Sea Girt is located on the Atlantic coast, in lower Monmouth County. Sea Girt is a seashore community with small town charm, rural beauty, and a rich community life with an abundance of recreational activities enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. According to the 2010 United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.5 square miles, the population is +- 1,800 people. During the summer months, the population increases.

Sea Girt's beaches and boardwalk are open on a year-round basis. The boardwalk offers an incredible panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean that starts at the Historic Sea Girt Lighthouse, which is one of only 20 remaining lighthouses in New Jersey, and runs to the southern end of town.

The Sea Girt Elementary School serves public school students in kindergarten through eighth grade. High school students will attend Manasquan High School.
